We always run out of gift tags and having the kids make some is a great fun idea! I found this cool idea at FamilyFun.com that I can't wait to try... http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=11074
What are some of your home made gift tag ideas?

I really like that idea. This year we are trying to keep
everything cheap. Homemade is the Best!

Jen, That is an adorable idea. We use the scraps of wrapping paper that you always have to make matching to from tags. The kids fold the paper and start cutting out some of the designs. The fun comes in trying to match the design on the package. Sometimes it matches so well you can't tell it is a tag!!! Double stick tape works great.

Another idea, is we use 'leftover' pictures that I always seem to have. The kids love to use my scrapbook stencils and cut the pictures into shapes, then write on the back of the picture!

We do the scrap paper tags too. Also, I save the cards we get in the mail. Any we don't hang as decorations, we use as gift tags. LOL, recycle, recycle....snowmen for my sister, penguins for my nephew, tigger for my dad....always something special for who the gift is for.

i save my cards from the year before and make my tags out of the pictures and 'sayings' that were on them..all the cards at christmas time are so beautiful for the adults or cute for the kids that you can use almost the whole thing..no waste!

That's so cool... I may do that this year! Just store the old cards with the Christmas ornaments for next year!
