We're doing hand and foot print cards in the shape of a reindeer head. On the back of the reindeer will be the message, "You're such a deer! We're putting our best foot forward and wishing you a wonderful holiday season! Give yourselves a hand!" Yeah, it's corny! LOL

For our family members and close friends, we're going to do a Santa handprint. We cover the hand in white paint and put it on a piece of paper. After it dries, we're going to color a little santa face and glue on a red construction paper Santa hat.

It's not much, but it's a fun way to get my 2-year-old involved! :-)

I have leftover white paint from a recent craft so I am all set to make this Santa card... I think I will have my kids make all the cards this year so I won't have to buy any!

When I was a kid, my mom would have me sharpen a bunch of different color crayons and then put the shavings on the inside of a folded-over card-size pice of construction paper. Then she'd press a warm iron over the closed card. We'd then open the card back up to reveal a beautiful mosaic of color that was mirrored on both sides of the crease. It looks like a pretty version of a Rorshach test.

Those sound so pretty! It reminds me of something my mom did with wax paper and crayon shavings. She would sandwich one color between two pieces of wax paper, then she'd used the iron to melt the crayon. Then we used to cut out shapes and hang them in the windows. They looked like stained glass. :)

That does sound pretty. I remember doing the same thing with the waxed paper in first grade. That was how we decorated our room. (Now, I'm aging myself).

Both set of grandparents love homemade cards from myself and my daughter. This year I am taking my daughter foot and hands and making a reindeer and putting a red nose on it. Along with that we are making homemade organments.
