Christmas around the World
FamilyHost_Jen - December 11, 2008
My family is Swedish and I just love adding touches of Scandinavian Christmas items out (just like I remember my great grandmother doing)! I was so delighted to find a craft for a Scandinavian Christmas Crown at Crayola.com to share with my children this year... http://www.crayola.com/crafts/detail/scandinavian-christmas-crown-craft/
What are some of your great family craft making traditions?

My very best friend is Jewish and our children are really close. Because of this I bought a few Hanukkah ornaments to hang on our tree. We painted a star of David, a menorah and a dradle. My friend has a "Hanukkah Tree" and she hangs both Christmas and Hanukkah ornaments that the kids make together. We also get together and make latkes with the kids.

I heard something about this on TV today and they called it Chrismakah (not sure how to spell that one). It was so nice to see how different religions can share both holidays!

We're Italian and what we used to do when I was little was to go over to Nana's house (great grandmother) and make our initials out of biscotti dough. When they were baked, we'd decorate our initials, then put them on the tree. :) We usually did that on Christmas Eve day, before Mass. Then we'd eat the cookies before Christmas dinner "for good luck."
