The first ultrasound
FamilyHost_Annabelle - January 24, 2009
I was pregnant before the ultrasound era, so we never got to experience the excitement of that first ultrasound. Have you had your first ultrasound? Was it one of the newer 3D/4D ultrasounds? Tell us about it and please share a picture if you have it!

With my first I just have a photo and with the second I have a video. I have seen those new 3D images and they are so cool. I wish they had those when I was pregnant!

I think the new ones are amazing! I got to see pictures of a friend's grandbaby-to-be last week. So precious!

My first ultrasound was a regular 2D black and white. 2 weeks ago I went to a place specializing in the 3D/4D ultrasound to see her pretty little face. It was so amazing! You get to lay there and actually watch every little move she makes. Alexis was sleeping through most of hers, although at the end we were able to wake her up by having my husband blow raspberries on my belly. It was really cool to see her reaction when he made such a loud noise on my tummy. At one point she was sort of smiling while my husband was talking to her, then when my mom began talking to her she frowned really big. It was very funny!! The best experience ever. I recommend all who can afford it to have the 3D/4D ultrasound done.

Hi! I am brand new here...and a first time mommy-to-be. I am about seven and a half weeks along and had my first ultrasound last friday. It seemed early to me, but I guess because I am a double whammy high risk pregnancy (diabetes and 35), they wanted to make sure everything was okay. It was just a 2-D ultrasound and the baby was just a little round circle about the size of a pea, but the amazing part was the little flickering heartbeat. It finally made it real for my husband and I, as we were unsure if I would ever be able to get pregnant. We were going to start fertility treatments shortly, but we had what we are calling "our Christmas miracle", so now there is no need.

I loved the story JessicaNicole09 shared about her ultrasound! Maybe by now, she has arrived? My 20 wk ultrasound is in 2 weeks and we can't wait to find out the gender. This is my 6th pregnancy and hopefully our 4th child. Each one is so amazing. I still remember seeing my first daughter sucking her thumb and then rolling over onto her side during the ultrasound..as if for privacy! Ultrasounds can also be a time for breaking hearts. Let's face it. It happens. We share the joys and sorrows. I have videos and pictures and now DVD and CD's. Here is a pic of my first ultrasound for this little one.

Thank you. It was very funny. She arrived March 22, 2009. She's now 3, almost 4 months old and the same little character she was in the womb. Your ultrasound picture is neat looking. Congrats on the new baby!
