Now that your baby is here, can you believe how fast he/she is growing? When I brought my first daughter home from the hospital, she was swimming in size 0-3 month clothing. Four weeks later I was packing those same clothes away for the next baby and wondering where I was going to find larger clothing for this child of mine who was growing right before my eyes. Luckily, a close friend had a baby girl two months before I gave birth, and she was happy to pass clothing on to me.
However, it doesn't always happen that we know someone who can pass along clothing of the right size and for the right season. Besides borrowing gently used clothing from friends and relatives, what are other ways you know of to obtain inexpensive (or free) clothing? Let's share our resource ideas here! Not acceptable?
We were lucky and had some hand me ups in many sizes. I also shopped at thrift shops and when department stores had end of season clearance sales I would buy bigger sizes for the next year. Then I saved it all for my second child. Thank goodness I had two girls! The only problem I had was that sometimes the sizes did not match the seasons! Not acceptable?
I am a member of an email group called Freecycle. People in the area post items for giveaway and then the taker can go pick them up. It's been a great way for us to get - and get rid of - household items and baby clothes. It's been a tremendous resource for us. Not acceptable?

Sorry to hear you had problems with the site. I tried it just now. I typed your city and state in the box and saw that the Freecycle chapter in Neptune is closest to you - about 14 miles away. You can find more information by typing in your city and state and then clicking on the link for Neptune, NJ. To join that group you'll need to have a Yahoo account. Once you join the group you can send email requests for specific things you need. Good luck! I hope it works out for you! Not acceptable?
