Baby's First Halloween
FamilyHost_Annabelle - September 14, 2009
For me there were few things more fun than dressing up my kids for Halloween, especially when they were babies. My first child was only 10 weeks old on her first Halloween, so we had to make a costume, because in those days there really were none available. My sister sewed her an angel costume, complete with wings and a halo that we had to secure with a band-aid to her bald little head. She was adorable! My second child was seven months old and too large (and mobile) for the angel costume, so my sister crafted her a bunny costume to match her two year old sister's costume. It was so much fun watching that little bunny tail wiggling back and forth as she crawled all over the room.

What costume plans do you have for your little one's first Halloween? Share your ideas with us! Pictures would be great! If you need ideas, check DisneyFamily.com's Top 100 Costume Ideas at http://family.go.com/holidays/pkg-halloween-costume-crafts/.

I agree, we did the same sort of thing. I think we had a little one-piece sleeper set that was orange with a black jack-o-lantern face on it. I'll try to find the pic and scan it in.

my daughter is 4 months and i have so many cute ideas to try, homemade though, because bought ones are usually to big and cost way to much! Maybe a bee- yellow towel tucked into carrier with black tape bee stripes and pipe cleaner antenaes, or maybe a pink dragon with cut-in-half sponges as the triangle spikes on her back and for a tail...so many ideas and only one night to show her off!

What cute ideas, princess_lilys_mom! Thanks for sharing them. One of the fun things about costumes is that you can use them for dress up and pretend play when the kids are older. When they're babies, you can have fun dressing them up, take some fun pictures, and pass the costumes to other moms who can use them. You don't have to wait for Halloween to get dressed up:)

My babygirl just turned 5 months old on the 1st and I am super excited about halloween costumes!! I've found that Kohl's have the cutest costumes and I've narrowed it down to either a cute ladybug or an even cuter duckie!! I'm not really looking for an original costume, just something fun and lighthearted so that I can cherish the moment and take lots of pics!!
