TERMS OF CONTEST
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older as of June 9, 2008. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law. Contest begins Monday, June 23, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. PT, and all entries must be received by 2:59 P.M. PT on Monday, July 7, 2008. The winner will be selected on or about Monday, July 14, 2008. All times are Pacific Time (PT).
HOW TO ENTER
Go to Disney Family.com web site, on the "Comment Mania Contest Main Page" page (http://family.go.com/comment-contest), click the link to the Comment Mania article featured for that week. Read the article / story and enter your comment (maximum 1,000 words) at the bottom of the article. The entrant must be registered with Disney Family.com to make a comment. One entry submission per day, per person please.
Each contest entry must be received by 2:59 P.M. PT on Monday, July 7, 2008. Once submitted, entries become the sole property of Sponsor.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, or other connections, miscommunications, failed phone or computer hardware or software or telephone transmissions or technical failures, garbled or jumbled transmissions or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical, or electronic; including without limitation the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information online, or for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, stolen, misdirected, or illegible. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void.
SELECTION OF WINNER AND JUDGING CRITERIA
All eligible entries will be judged by Disney Family.com's creative staff. The judges will choose one (1) first place winner from all the eligible entries received for duration the contest. The judging criteria to be used in selecting the Finalists will be (1) 60 percent for creativity and originality, and (2) 40 percent for relevancy to article. The winner of the contest will be notified approximately one week after the closing of the contest, on or about July 14, 2008, via email. The winner of the contest will be posted on the site on or about the third Monday following the contest period, on or about July 21, 2008. By participating, entrants agree to the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects.
CONTEST PRIZES
PRIZE
One (1) Winner will be featured on the CommentMania Comment Contest page of the Disney Family.com web site. In addition, the winner will receive a prize with an approximate retail value of $100.00. Winner is solely responsible for any and all taxes on prize, as well as any and all expenses relative to participation in the Disney Family.com's Comment Mania Comment Contest (including acceptance of prize) not specified herein. Prizes will be awarded within approximately 60 days after selection of winner. No substitution allowed except at discretion of the Sponsor. Prizes are not transferable. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any and all prizes with prizes of equal or greater value, if an advertised prize becomes unavailable.
ELIGIBILITY
Contest is governed by U.S. law and is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 18 years old or older as of June 23, 2008. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law. Employees or agents of the Walt Disney Internet Group, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising/promotional agencies and the employees, officers, directors and agents of any of the above organizations, and the members or the immediate family or those living in the same household of such individuals, are ineligible. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
First Place Winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and, where legal, a Publicity Release within seven (7) days of the date printed on the prize notification or be disqualified. Winner will be notified by mail, e-mail, or telephone and must respond within seven (7) days of attempted notification or be disqualified. If a prize is returned as undeliverable, potential winner will be disqualified. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, or suspend the contest should viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt or impair the administration, security, or fairness of the contest. In such event, winner will be selected from all eligible entries received up to the time of such cancellation, termination, or suspension.
Submission of an entry constitutes the irrevocable grant to Sponsor of all rights in the entry, all rights to publish, use, adapt, edit, and/or modify such entry in any way and in any and all media, without limitation, and without consideration or acknowledgment to the entrant and the unconditional right to use the photograph and statements about the promotion for advertising/publicity purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
By entering, participants release Disney Family.com, Walt Disney Internet Group, The Walt Disney Company, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising/promotional agencies, and the employees, officers, directors, and agents of the above organizations from any and all liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by participation in the contest or the acceptance, possession, or use/misuse of a prize or participation in any prize-related activities.
WINNERS LIST/OFFICIAL RULES
The winning entrant's first name, and initial of his or her last name, and city of residence will be posted online on or about the second Monday proceeding the close the contest entry deadline.
