God's Gift to Furniture Movers

Joe and I have been getting our house ready for sale. If you've gone through this trial, you know that it involves decluttering, painting, and furniture rearranging so that each room looks as spacious and attractive as it possibly can.

We would never have been able to do this without the help of four things: EZ Moves Furniture Slides. As you can from the picture, EZ Moves are a piece of foam attached to a slick plastic base. So simple, yet so brilliant!

You slip the sliders under each corner of the piece to be moved. Then, push or pull the furniture to wherever you need to move it. You don't even need to empty drawers!

We moved really heavy stuff with these little miracles. For example, our bed is a solid cherry, mission-style platform bed, with a heavy mattress on top of it. I put the sliders under the legs and moved it all by myself. It slid across the floor as if it were on skates.

My dresser (solid oak with five overstuffed drawers), a completely full four-drawer filing cabinet, and a big desk practically floated across the floor.

Get them at your local hardware store. They come in several different sizes. I'm going to invest in several packages so that when I set up shop in my new digs, I can move my stuff around to my heart's content.
