Cordy in her red sandals last summer

Even though you wouldn't know it today (yesterday was shorts weather, today it's snowing), warm weather is soon to be here everyday for many of us. This means it's also time for sandals again.

I'm a huge fan of sandals. Sweaty feet are not on my list of favorites, and Cordy has inherited my hatred of "hot feet". Last summer, we spent most of our days in sandals or bare feet. However, my daughter's feet aren't exactly easy to fit, and most stores have nothing available for her wide and tall feet. The thought of her being restricted all summer to the one pair of tennis shoes that come in double wide and are tall enough for her feet made me cringe. After a lot of searching last summer, we found the perfect sandals.

Enter the Lands' End Action Sandals for kids. They come in wide sizes, although even their regular width is pretty wide. And there are two velcro straps, allowing you to adjust both the strap around the ankle, and the strap across the bottom of the toes. Thanks to those velcro straps, these shoes fit nearly any feet! The soles are lightweight and flexible, also, which is perfect for a child who is still practicing the finer points of walking.

Last year's red Action Sandals were worn nearly every day, and took a lot of abuse. More than once they were thrown into the washing machine to be freshened up, and each time they emerged looking brand new. She's outgrown them now, but these sandals are being kept for baby #2, and will likely survive another summer of abuse and still look good enough to pass on to someone else.

When I ordered this year's set, in Clear Blue this time, I noticed a few added features. Now they are advertising that these shoes are machine washable (oops, guess I did it anyway last year), and the soles have been given an anti-microbial treatment, guaranteeing no stinky shoes. And at under $20, they are far cheaper than other name brand shoes, and will certainly last longer than discount store shoes.

So if you're looking for that perfect pair of everyday sandals for your kids, I highly recommend you give the Lands' End Action Sandals a try. Yes, you're ordering shoes online, but you can print off their handy shoe fit guide to make sure you get the right size, and if they don't work out, you can return them to any Sears instead of mailing them back. I love the shoes, I love all of the colors they offer, and I especially love that they fit my daughter's feet.
