Since I write a blog called "Seek the Unique," it's easy to see that I like to shop. I love to shop for holiday gifts that are special and personal. Spending more money doesn't mean the gift is better and it's a personal mission of mine to buy gifts for loved ones and friends that can't be found on any "big box retailer" shelf.

As you look for holiday gift ideas, here are a few of… Read More

It's a Wonderful Life

I tried once to keep a gratitude journal, but similar to keeping a diary when I was a teenager, no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't stay faithful to writing in it daily. "You. Have. Got. To. Be. Kidding," he dramatically replied.

"No, I'm not. I want new stuff for our bedroom."

Now, I knew that this would get him. He hasn't liked our bedroom either for quite some time. For a long time I… Read More

Each year I make three different treats that have become so well-loved that I don't dare miss making them. The first two are really candy, although one of them may well be considered a bar cookie or near brownie. The third is a cookie; a cut out type. I don't make the same recipe each year, but we must have cut-out cookies for Christmas. This year it's a very simple butter cookie decorated with Royal Icing. Cookie Dough Bites
