I Love My Dove

When I was little, I was fascinated with the commercials for Dove soap, because it seemed to me that anything that contained "one-quarter cleansing cream" had to be a good thing.

Well, I've grown up, and so has Dove.

Recently Dove came out with a new skin care line. They're using a clever marketing technique - rather than call a line forĀ  women over 40 "anti-age," Dove is turning the idea on its head and calling it pro-age.

I was already a convert to their fine, fine shampoo plus conditioner. When I ran out of my usual cleanser, I decided to give the pro-age foaming facial cleanser a try.

I am very glad I did.

Even at 55, I have combination skin, with an oily T-zone and dry cheeks and neck. I even still get the occasional pimple (So. Wrong.) or blackhead mixed in with my menopausal goat hairs. So I need a cleanser that gets rid of the extra oil but doesn't strip the moisture.

This stuff does all that and more! The product comes out of the tube as a nice cream. It foams up with just a little water, turning into a nice, rich lather. It leaves my face soft, not tight, and ready for moisturizer. Speaking of moisturizer, I'm looking forward to running out of my current brand, so I can try the pro-age. If it's as good as the cleanser, it's mine.

I'm definitely pro pro-age!
