Dancing frogs, a dinosaur and time travel in Meet the Robinsons
You gotta love these modern-day Disney movies. I don't remember them being so funny when I was growing up, but it seems like today's movies are an "all-play" and suitable for the whole family.
Meet the Robinsons is Disney's latest DVD release, coming out today (October 23rd).
We saw it in the theatre, in one of those rare moments where I actually got to sit through an entire movie with an infant and 3.5 year old in tow. (Baby only sat because he nursed and took a nice nap halfway through - the same didn't fly when we attempted Ratatouille several months later.)
So Meet the Robinsons is a story about an orphan who travels through time into the future where he meets the Robinson family and a wonderful future that he has to save. It's a cute story and a fun movie. There are a couple "scary" parts for the under 5s (for example, somehow the dinosaur has been deemed "too scary" by my almost-4 year old so we're fast-forwarding through that whenever we get there)
It's cute and it sends a nice message home about persevering and not giving up in the face of adversity. And that failing at something is only one small step on the road to success.
Buy it on Amazon for $16.99; it's eligible for free shipping when you spend $25 or more.
