Keep it simple with Bla Bla Kids

I found this helpful Thank You! Your vote will be tallied soon!

My grandmother used to always say, "keep it simple, stupid."  Not exactly politically correct, but that's the way she rolled.  She'd chastise my mother about the state of our schedules growing up -- rushing off to one school event here, sports practice there.

And as Moms today know, it's only gotten worse with time.  Should I be embarrassed to admit that I have my 3-year-old enrolled in four organized sports events for the month of April?  It seems like utter craziness to me, but I know it's not just us as all of our "peers" are doing the same thing.  And heaven forbid, his 3-year-old self misses out!

With toys, baby products, kids products and life in general, I find a growing trend towards complicating all aspects of our lives.  As a product reviewer, I've observed so many companies trying to out-do the next with bells and whistles.  I sometimes think I may lose my mind - especially with some of the toddler toys.  They make about a zillion different sounds as they light up in twenty different places - it's enough to make any adult a little nuts from sensory overload, let alone a little child.

So when I get to review a *simple* baby product, I find it so refreshing.  One such company that thinks simple yet quality for its line is Bla Bla Kids.  Their items are knit by Peruvian artisans out of natural fiber materials found in Peru.  They make items like finger puppets, stuffed animals, banks, backpacks  and more.

We have a Bla Bla Kids mobile for the baby.  My husband put it up recently above our changing table.  I have to say, it's one of his favorite baby toys.  Forget all those plastic toys that make sounds when he squeezes them, what delights him more than most is to lay on his changing table and watch the Bla Bla Kids knit-mobile spinning slowly above his head.  Simple, quiet and peaceful - I love it.  We could all use a little more simplicity in our lives.
