Baby sits up with the Bumbo Seat

I found this helpful Thank You! Your vote will be tallied soon!

There was no Bumbo Seat when I had my first son. It came out about 11 months later, after I would have needed to use it. So when I recently had my second son (in November) I was eager to test out it out.

The Bumbo is basically a seat designed for babies who aren't able to fully sit up yet. As long as they have good head control, the Bumbo works to keep them upright and in a sitting position for a time. It's made of a soft, pliable material so I would imagine it's comfortable for them to sit in. And although the "recommended" weight limit is up to 22 pounds, the official website for the Bumbo says this: "In practical useage however, we have seen that there is not really a weight limit on the Bumbo, it is more of a size limit." They go on to say they have seen kids with special needs up to age 7 sitting in the seat. I do know this - my 3-year-old (36 pounds) can fit and sit comfortably in the Bumbo. In fact, I think he feels it's his chair more than his little brothers.

You can find the Bumbo on the One Step Ahead site. Use coupon code BABY15 to receive 15% off your purchase of $75 or more on One Step Ahead.

Update 10/25/2007: There have been reports of some children being injured while sitting in the Bumbo Seat. Make sure you are aware of all product warnings and follow all safety precautions, such as never leaving your baby unattended in the seat.
