I found this helpful Thank You! Your vote will be tallied soon!

Movie theaters are great places to be in the summer.  Cold, dark spaces where we can be hypnotized by big pretty pictures flashing in front of our eyes.  I don't know about you but I particularly enjoy the overkill on the AC that is almost guaranteed to cool you down isntantly as step onto those multicolored theater carpets.

If you're a semi-seasoned knitter, you may have also discovered that movie theaters are perfect places to sneak in you knitting.  Bring a mindless project (stockinette stitch in the round is recommended) and you've got a healthy dose of knitting time, not to mention something to keep your legs warm after the novelty of the big chill has worn off.  This summer activity is particularly suited for you moms and dads who are starved for knitting time.  After all, a nice long movie will keep the kids entertained for two hours.  There's a good amount of knitting to be done in that time!

Why am I going on about movie theaters?  Because I just discovered that most major movie theaters offer FREE family-oriented movies on weekday mornings.  Does anyone else think this is completely awesome?  Check out this link for more information and a list of participating theaters.  I don't have any kids, but that doesn't mean I won't be slipping into a darkened theater for a little one-on-one with my sweater.  It deserves a night out anyway.

About Me
