Purple Garter

My 'Baby Surprise' plans have been stalled since my yarn has yet to arrive (I was expecting it to arrive before the weekend).  Such is the lot of a compulsive online wool shopper. 

After exhausting the planning stages of the surprise jacket, I've started another small, garter-stitch riddled project that utilizes interesting shaping.  And since it's a real scorcher today in NYC, something as small as a hat is about all I can handle.  We're still trying to avoid the inaugural switch-on of the blessed air conditioning.  Because once it's on, we don't turn back.  And our wallets cry on that day.

The hat is a free download that I'm testing out for this week's free pattern round-up.  If it's really as good as I think its going to be, I'll post the pattern and give you a full review.  I hope you can find some knitting time over the long weekend!
