The Contenders

There it was- the smoothie my son spilled - in, out and on the fridge, all over the floor, and splashed on the kitchen door. The first thing I did was count to ten before sending everyone "OUT of the kitchen!" so I could assess the mess.  All I could think was, "Didn't I JUST clean this floor?  Why do they always have to mess up what I clean just after I've cleaned it?" My next thought was the winning light bulb moment ... "I just got a roll of Bounty paper towels in the mail!"

Who gets excited about paper towels? Apparently, me ... and only me. Oh well, go with what  you're good at, right? I was also excited about that clean kitchen floor and there was no way I was  leaving one tiny fleck of pink smoothie behind to be mysteriously turned into that 'dark sticky spot on the floor'.

I grabbed a single half-sheet of Bounty (these are the selectable size type, love that) faced my nemesis and went to work. I had already decided that since Best Ever Bounty claims to be a rinse and repeat wonder, I would put them through the wringer; pun most definitely intended.

I wiped out much of the gunk in the freezer and rinsed out the paper towel, completely expecting it to fall to shreds or, worse, cling together and not come back apart when I tried to open it up. You know what I'm talking about. I buy the El-Cheapo brand of paper towels and usually regret it. When you're wiping the table and get all the way to the end before realizing that half the towel is still on the surface behind you, you may need a new brand of paper towel.

I continued wiping, rinsing and wringing. I got the entire floor of the freezer clean with two half- sheets, that's ONE sheet, and went on to finish cleaning up the whole mess, door and floor included, with two whole sheets of Bounty. This was a 12 oz glass full of strawberry smoothie, complete with seeds, all over the insides and front of a white refrigerator, all over a white floor and splashed elsewhere. That's some serious cleaning.

Beat that. Better yet, if you can beat that and write about it too, check out the Bounty One Sheet Challenge. Click on over there and be one of the first 50,000 to share your experience cleaning your biggest mess with Bounty and you'll receive a coupon for $1.00 off new and improved Bounty and, you could win a complete kitchen makeover worth $30,000!

Just think, a whole new kitchen to make and spill smoothies in.
