Chocolate Covered Pretzel Sticks
12 |
My kids love chocolate covered pretzels, but they can be very expensive so, if we purchased them, they would get very little and were never satisfied. I now make my own and save a ton of money.
I've seen the large chocolate covered pretzel sticks for $1 and up, each. I've been able to make them for far less. They are so easy to do that anyone can help, even little ones as long as someone supervises the heated chocolate.
I use a single 12 ounce bag of chocolate chips and melt them in the microwave. Once the chocolate is melted and stirred well you simply dip half of the pretzel stick into it. You can then go crazy with sprinkles or nuts, adding anything you'd like in any color. Dip the coated end of the pretzel into sprinkles and either stand it up or lay it on a cookie sheet prepared with cooking spray until set. I was able to get 24 sticks from a single bag of chocolate chips.
Add a colored cellophane bag and a sparkly twist tie and they will look exactly like the costly ones from boutique-type candy stores. We plan on making these with various sprinkles to add to the kids' Easter baskets this year.
