Fabulous Gifts

April Showers bring May Flowers...and then it's time for graduation gifts!   I love to give books as graduation gifts because most of the grads are overflowing with pens and  other "official" graduation presents.  The book titles below are the books I keep on my shelf AND I keep an extra copy handy for graduation gifts.

Fabulous Gifts:  Hollywood's Gift Guru Reveals the Secret to Giving the Perfect Present
I. Love. This. Book.  "Fabulous Gifts" is written by LA Celebirty Guru, Lash Fary.  I love to give this book because most college graduates have NO CLUE about gift giving.  Lash gives clueless grads (as well as clueless moms and dads) very concrete ideas and direction for what is appropriate to gift to the different people in your life.   Lash is the founder of hot LA firm, Distinctive Assets and is a high profile celebrity expert.

A Short Guide to a Happy Life
One of the best writers on the planet, Anna Quindlen, wrote "A Short Guide to a Happy Life" a few years ago. It is probably my all time favorite book.  I keep a copy in every powder room in my house AND I especially like to give this book to graduates.  It's a very easy-to-read and special book that instantly gives perspective on the important things in life.

Word of Mouth Marketing:  How Smart Companies Get People Talking
I'm a marketer by profession but there is a marketing book that is a practical gift for college grads.  Marketing guru Andy Sernovitz wrote "Word of Mouth Marketing" in 2006 and it immediately became one of my favorites.  Andy is a marketing rockstar BUT unlike many marketing gurus, Andy's work is LOW on the buzz words, HIGH on credibility.   "Word of Mouth Marketing" is a book full of life lessons wrapped up in a marketing book.

Most grads would rather have MONEY but books are a welcome graduation gift.  Especially if you add in a little cash as a bookmark.  Works every time.
