I found this helpful Thank You! Your vote will be tallied soon!

Here are a few links that will help you go in several different directions on your next vacation:

Outdoors --  Frommer's has a great article about getting out and enjoying our national parks: 11 Hikes The Entire Family Can Do.

Indoors --  How about a factory tour?  There's a map here of such tours in the United States, so click on a state and start planning.  Ben and Jerry's ice cream in Vermont is pretty obvious, but how about the Jelly Belly candy factory in Fairfield, California, near San Francisco? Sorry about my obsession with sweets....you can also go to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California. :)  I'd love to think I'm brilliant at finding these things, but the real credit should go to this article about factory tours in Smarter Travel.

In & Out -- You'll find activities everywhere in this great list of free things to do in New York City, from National Geographic Traveler.

Off-Peak -- For the super-organized who can think far ahead, you won't care if you're outdoors or in when you enjoy off-peak travel in the fall, but the time to book it is now. Destination suggestions include Iceland, San Francisco and Montreal.
