I found this helpful Thank You! Your vote will be tallied soon!

Good news -- in between all of the other writerly stuff going on, I've been invited to be a panelist at the July 27-29 BlogHer blogging conference in Chicago!

My panel is on the morning of the first day, and it's about "Finding and Following Your Passion" in blogging.  The BlogHer organization is very welcoming to all sorts of bloggers (yes, even men) and the conference will have newbies and old hands, techies and non-techies, plus childcare available.  Chicago is a great city and a fun summer destination for families; I'm looking forward to driving there from Texas with my teenage daughter.  Hope to see you in the Windy City.

For those of you who are cooking enthusiasts, my short article on unique cooking vacations around the world just went online at CHOW, the online food magazine.  At least one of the places profiled offers classes for kids.

Finally, there are a couple of blog carnivals worth noting:  the Carnival of Family Life, hosted this week by the Australian blog downwiththekids.net, features my Blue Ridge Road Trip post from Family Travel, and the new Carnival of Trains hosted by The Magic of a Train Journey featured this blog's post on Blue Ridge Railroad Fun.
