Ah, Saturdays
Somehow, my little three-and-a-half year olds are aware of the days of the week. They look forward to Saturdays, when they can come downstairs in pajamas. Usually, we get dressed leisurely and have breakfast in our jammies. Sometime before lunch, we stroll to the library.
Today, though, we went to our city's annual Easter Egg Hunt. It's actually a candy free-for-all, with sweets strewn all over the park. Hundreds of kids are there, but still, no one goes home empty-handed. (We have very generous fire fighters in our town; they organize the hunt each year.) There are a few golden eggs to look for, and the lucky finders can turn them in for giant honking Easter baskets.
Of all crazy things in Southern California, it rained for today's hunt, but we still trudged out, East coasters that we are.
The girls had a great time. After a coffee with our close friend, who also trudged out in the rain (Coloradan that she is), we came back home.
When we got here, our home was adorably cozy and the girls asked to blow up the Aero bed. It's still out from Auntie Dawn's and Auntie Thoo's recent visit, and they wanted to play "guests."
We blew up the bed for them, and they got out all of their "guests," placing each one of their stuffed animals on a pillow. Then they jumped on the bed.
Then we had hot dogs on warm buns and a nap.
It was a perfect Saturday, one that the best memories are made of.
