Mostly unbridled enthusiasm about raising twins
Our three-and-a-half year old daughters have been enjoying
learning letters here and there, but we're not in a hurry for
them to master the alphabet. So, it's been fun watching them
take it one step at a time, at their own pace. It was especially
fun this weekend watching them take a big leap forward.

My daughters are in the last stages of potty-training, and
it's taking forever!
They are poop-resistant and hold their poops with remarkable focus and determination, admirable qualities in many other settings, but NOT with potty-training, at least as far as I'm concerned.
My husband and I feel a determination and a focus equal to our daughters about them not holding their poop. We know that both of our girls are more than capable of pooping on the potty… Read More

Georgia (
SB 123) and New Hampshire (
SB 78) are two states that are currently
considering legislation to make it possible for parents to have a
say as to whether their twin and multiple children should be in
the same classrooms. Minnesota and other states already have
laws like these ones, and other states are also considering
similar legislation.

I don't usually buy myself birthday presents, but this year
I turned 40, and I decided to treat myself.
A good friend has been making lovely felted handbags, and I commissioned her to make me one. Not only are the colors and the yarns gorgeous, but she adds all these other beautiful touches that make the bags treasures.
One thing she does is to incorporate vintage jewelry into the decoration. I brought in a few things that used… Read More

Not being much of a Legoist myself when I was little, at
first I didn't get the importance of
these large building plates for playing with
our nice little collection of Duplos.
For the uninitiated, Duplos are the toddler-sized version of Legos (another time I'll write about my Duplo-collecting tips).
The whole family has had fun playing with the Duplos. My husband ( just like with Play-Doh) can make anything he imagines out of… Read More
