Moms, dads, and kids can all get active playing Wii Fit. (Photo courtesy of Nintendo)

You know what? Nintendo is just a new word for genius.

We've tried their newest release, Wii Fit, coming out on May 19 and think it's the best thing since, well, okay, Mario Kart Wii (which came out in April.)

A whole slew of people have tried and fallen in love with the Wii, thanks to truly excellent experiences with games like Wii Sports. Even the non-gamers we know (we're talking to you, mom, dad, grandma...) can't resist virtual bowling, tennis, and baseball played with Wii's motion sensitive controller.

Wii Fit takes the console to the next level with a new Balance Board. Using the board, you can check your Body Mass Index, see your Wii Fit age, and engage in more than 40 activities and exercises. The game is easy to use and good for all ages, so parents can get fit with yoga, strength training, and aerobics, while kids get more active thanks to Wii versions of snowboarding, hula hooping and even simple running. (This being Nintendo, you have the option to track down Mario-style mushrooms and stars in a gorgeous 2-D course.)

Wii-owning families will no longer have an excuse not to get some exercise every day. (Of course, we kinda think excuses might be a thing of the past.)

Comment question: Does your family have a Wii? How have you worked its games into your family time?
