On Sunday, some in-the-know Family.com staffers headed to the L.A. Film Festival premiere of Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D. The movie, which stars celeb dad Brendan Fraser, hits theaters on July 11.

Family.com spoke to Fraser, as well as the film's producer, Charlotte Huggins, who both strongly suggested the film as a must-see for families this summer. (Okay, they do have a teensy reason to be biased.) Check out video from the red carpet.

Also at the premiere, held in Westwood, were Journey stars Anita Briem (of The Tudors), Josh Hutcherson (Bridge to Teribithia), and Seth Myers. Young stars were out in force, too. Our reporters spotted Jennifer Stone (Wizards of Waverly Place), Madison Davenport (Kit Kittredge), Morgen Lily (of the upcoming Henry Poole is Here), Aimee Teegarden (Friday Night Lights), and Justin Martin (of the highly anticipated High School Musical 3: Senior Year).

Mom & Pop Culture (that's me) didn't have a chance to attend but I'm looking forward to the film. Summer's about big movies and 3-D ... that's big. On a hot summer day, I can think of nothing better than a tub of popcorn, an icy drink and a pair of 3-D specs. Plus, the film's an excuse to re-read Jules Verne's book. Double summer fun.

Will your family be donning 3-D specs? Have your kids ever been to a 3-D movie? What did they think?
