A month of gratitude: Day 4 - FERNANDO
1 |
Yesterday Dave and I spent most of the afternoon, including 100% of the kids' precious nap time, hanging curtains in our family room. From the outset of the project, Dave was skeptical that the hardware would hold up my extremely heavy IKEA curtains, but I nagged him into helping me hang them anyway.
Two hours later, the curtains were pulling off from the wall.
I had planned to spend today shopping for new brackets and purchasing a stud-finder to help re-do the job, but then our painter, Fernando, came over to finish some work he did on our banister. Dave was smart enough to ask for his opinion and half an hour later, Fernando returned from Home Depot with the right screws for the job. He stuck around and re-installed the brackets properly for me. I'm pretty sure the kids could swing from those drapes at this point and they still wouldn't come off the wall.
Fernando has been literally the best contractor we've ever had the privilege of working with. It's not just that he's honest and hard-working, but the work itself, it's METICULOUS. We were so lucky to find him and today, I was especially grateful that he saved Dave and I another round of home-improvement disharmony.
