A month of gratitude: Day 14 - A GOOD INSURANCE AGENT

I found this helpful Thank You! Your vote will be tallied soon!

One of the first things Dave did when we moved up here was to find us new car insurance.  He really only shopped for price, so I feel incredibly lucky and grateful that in the process he also found us a darn-good insurance agent.  When we had massive water damage on our fifth day in the house, I was even more grateful.  Our insurance agent was the one who recommended the excellent restoration company that helped dry out the bathroom and eventually re-build the ceiling and I felt like everything was taken care of in a top-notch way.

When the checks for the repairs came from our insurance company, they were made out to Dave and Amanda and XYZ Mortgage company, which is totally normal and appropriate for a large homeowner's claim.  Unfortunately, in the time it took for the work on the house to be completed, our mortgage was already sold and the checks we received were made out to the wrong mortgage company, rendering them useless.  Instead of making umpteen phone calls myself and trying to figure it all out, I simply dropped all the information off to my insurance agent who assured me he would handle it and give me a call when he was finished.
