Cinnamonly Delicious

I'm obsessed... again.

I'm pretty open about the fact that I like to make as many foods as possible from scratch, but when it comes to Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavors, I'm a fool for whatever they're offering. A new flavor on the block, "Cinnamon Buns" ice cream, also known as -- according to the packaging -- "caramel ice cream with cinnamon bun dough and a caramel streusel swirl," is just ridiculously delicious.

While you can scoop it sky-high and enjoy it alone or with caramel sauce, I understand if you or family members may try to restrain yourselves. In that case, you can also try doling it out in mini-scoop portions (say, with a cookie dough scoop), and serve it a couple of little ice cream globes over fresh fruit. (Sliced bananas and chopped apples are particular favorites).

Sometimes, if a new flavor doesn't catch on, Ben & Jerry's "retires" it. I just hope that Ben & Jerry's keeps Cinnamon Buns around a good, long time... or I might have to try and re-create it on my own.

In any event, I love that Ben & Jerry's always keeps a steady stream of imaginative flavors coming. But, if you're mourning a particularly dearly departed B&J flavor you can no longer find, tour their "Flavor Graveyard" for a nostalgic (and hilarious) spin through your sweet tooth past at www.benandjerrys.com/our_products/flavor_graveyard/
