The Girl in her Bondi Band
The colorful table caught my eye first. All those pretty colors and patterns...and all the pink! Of course I had to go check it out, both kids in tow.
The table was a display at a race expo, where lots of merchants sell clothing and other items triathletes might need. And frankly, I fell in love at first sight.
The Bondi Bands are not only super-fun, they're also highly functional. They come in stretchy, breathable materials, so they're great for exercise or other outdoor activities. I need to have my hair back when I go to hot yoga, but until I got my Bondi Bands, I found that other headbands would slip out of my hair. These stay put. Same goes for when I go out on my friend's boat: instead of the wind whipping my hair into one massive knot, I wear a cute Bondi Band that matches my outfit and can actually look stylish!
Both my kids have their own Bondi Bands, too. The Girl chose a couple of pink, sparkly bands; The Boy chose black ones with a skull symbol. The bands are also very cool for playing Pirate, I guess.
The Boy wears his completely flat against his head; I kind of scrunch mine up. Unlike other headbands I've worn, I never get a headache from these - somehow, they're the perfect size to stay put but not constrict.
The Bondi Bands are low-priced; plus, the more you buy, the greater the discount. The company has a secure order form on its web site, and you can choose colors, patterns, and materials. (My favorite is the pink Yoga Diva.) There are literally dozens and dozens to choose from.
But I think what impresses me the most about the company is their dedication to giving back. Each year they donate 10% of their profits to a worthy organization - currently the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. That's a pretty cool thing to do, and it makes me feel good about my incessant shopping, too!Member Comments On...
