Following up on my blog from last week about our Halloween costumes arriving (Batman's still in his outfit almost every day, the excitement has NOT died down at all), I've been finding more coupons and additional stores to shop for Halloween costumes. I thought I'd list them here for anyone still shopping:
I listed BabyStyle last week; you can use coupon code BABYJEL for $10 off a purchase of… Read More

We've been out doing a lot of shopping for the new house and everywhere we go, I see Halloween stuff. I can't tell you how impossible it is for me to resist it. I ADORE Halloween. It is hands-down my most favorite holiday. I love the costumes and the candy and the fact that it's such an oddball American tradition. Even the idea of walking around the neighborhood after dark has always been a… Read More

I walked into my local supermarket last week and was surprised to find that, barely into the first weeks of September, we are now firmly entrenched in Halloween Hysteria. The aisles were draped with the requisite fake cobwebs and lined with racks of packaged costumes -- the good ones in every size, from tot to big man, rather than the picked-over, disheveled costumes I'm used to seeing whenever I start costume shopping in October.

Sandwiched into the Fall of back-to-school, football and soccer, and chants of "Hooray for Halloween," we do enjoy hearty helpings of soups and stews around here. And, strangely enough it seems, the closer those meals can be in hue -- be it orange or black -- to the official colors of Halloween, then the more popular they're likely to be... particularly with the announcement at the beginning of your meal that "Tonight, we thought… Read More

This year's Halloween is our biggest yet. At almost-4, my oldest has been asking about it since last spring. He's held firm on what he wants to be for months: a superhero. I don't know where he learned about it but he's been on a kick with the "traditional" superheroes for awhile now -- Superman, Batman and Spiderman being the top three. Each night when he goes to bed, we have to "do" one… Read More

Labor Day is now behind us, which means we've officially entered Halloween season! Halloween is my family's favorite holiday, and we take it very seriously. First on the agenda every year is finding the right costumes.
Before kids, my husband and I would spend a lot of time visiting costume stores, sometimes to buy a costume, sometimes to get ideas so we could make our own. While we still like to dress up each year, our… Read More
