So when I became pregnant with my daughter Annie 5 years ago, friends and family members looked on with envy. "Oh, you're a teacher, a Ph.D in Education. Parenthood will be a breeze. You'll have ALL the answers."

Were they kidding?

In my first blog posting I talked about the stress of being an educator and having everyone ask "where's your child going to kindergarten next year." It just so happens that since that last posting I have had conversations with two other educators in town who also are burdened by this additional stress to their pre-K anxiety.

"Where's your daughter going to kindergarten next year?"

Few questions provoke as much anxiety in parents of 4-year-olds than this simple, innocent inquiry.

In these days of school choice the possibilities are endless: public school, private school, magnet, charter, religious.
