5 more weeks and our nursery looks like this

I love what you've done with this space
5 more weeks to go until my due date and our nursery is still an empty room. Scratch that. It does bear the contents of one box of Christmas wrapping paper that we never relocated after moving into our house in February. And the pack-n-play. So there's that.
It's not to say we haven't been trying to prepare. We ordered new furniture for Jolie way back in September, planning to move her crib, dresser, and glider into the baby's room since it's in a unisex style and color (happy about that piece of planning). We went with a girlier look for her- a twin bed, dresser and nightstand in a classic but feminine espresso color that she hopefully won't outgrow for many years.
It's still not here yet.
Meanwhile, as I'm feeling more frequent and more intense Braxton-Hicks contractions, I keep passing by the nursery, appreciating its emptiness. Yep. Still empty.
Maybe it was this apprehension that caused me to spend awhile in our disorganized basement storage room last night trying to fish out everything we'll depend on for the first weeks: the co-sleeper, the pack-n-play bassinet attachment, the infant car seat and base, the pumping paraphernalia and baby bottles, our extra diaper-pail. We have a pack of newborn diapers already. What else???
I guess we won't really be needing the full nursery set-up for awhile. Even after the baby comes, we're planning on having him sleep in our room in the co-sleeper. But, it does feel odd to at least seem so unprepared. I'm pretty sure by this time with our daughter, the room was done, the mobile hanging, the wall art up, and the drawers stocked with basics for the first few months.
In general, with this second pregnancy, we've been more laid back about the whole thing. I haven't stressed about every single pain or discomfort or transient quieting of fetal movement. (Although my whining about varicose veins, reflux and constipation may have gotten louder.)
We may not have enough clothes. (After weeding out the girly pink outfits left over from our daughter, there are slim pickings.) But, somehow, I'm not bothered by this.'
We just won't take any pictures of him in the flowered sleepers.
