If Brooke Shields can admit she needs a nap, why can't I?
Posted April 7, 2008 by Tommi Lewis Tilden
Parenthood is a great leveler. Doesn’t matter who you are, where you live, or how many zeros are on your paycheck, being a parent is a profound thing that effects us all in ways we never imagined it could.
Sure, we’re all different, but every parent deals with pretty much the same issues. And because it’s not always easy to raise a kid, we often look to others for advice or support.
That’s one of the reasons so many of us are interested in the parenting styles of the rich and famous. If Angelina Jolie lets her kids eat Cheetos, then I’m not all that bad! If Brooke Shields says she needs a nap in the middle of the day, I can admit it too!
Sure, most celeb-types have "people" to hand their kids off to when it’s time to play Candy Land again. And the vast majority have probably never been as sleep-deprived as we mere-mortals. But a parent is a parent, and we’re all gunning for the same thing: raising well-adjusted, healthy, happy children.
With this underlying theme as the focal point, this blog will follow those who parent in the spotlight. From big-time moviemakers to sitcom stars and mega musicians, if they’re a mom or a pop, we’ll be talking about them -- and their little ones.
