"Grey's Anatomy" heartthrob Patrick Dempsey is also a "McDreamy" Dad.

With Father’s Day fast approaching, we thought it’d be fun to shine our spotlight on some celeb dads who make it a point to be involved in their kids’ lives -- and actually enjoy doing it!

Patrick Dempsey, father of 6-year-old Talula and 1-year-old twins, Darby and Sullivan, recently told Parade's Jeanne Wolf that while solo on a film location he was "in the gilded cages of all these great hotels, and I couldn’t figure out why I was so depressed." Then it occurred to him; "It was too quiet! I’m used to the noise [at home] and the laughter...and even the crying!"

Dempsey may be a Porsche-driving hotshot heartthrob but, open the door to his pricey ride to reveal the dad behind the horsepower…there’s a car seat on the passenger side! "My daughter loves me to drive her to school in this. We talk about all kinds of things. You want those moments. They go by very quickly, so you try to get them in when you can." McDreamy, indeed.

In his new book, Yes, You’re Pregnant, But What About Me? 54-year-old actor Kevin Nealon talks about fatherhood and how his priorities have changed. The "Weeds" star enthuses: "I look for playgrounds now instead of bars and get excited [when one] has bucket swings!"

NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, who, these days is busy on the campaign trail, echoes the sentiment. His daughter Allison recently left for college and he told Good Housekeeping that he’s bracing himself for an empty nest. "We’ve gotten a taste of it with [Allison] having left, but now, every night I’m away from my son [16-year-old Douglas], I’m aware that these days are finite and not going to last."

Steve Carrell knows full well that childhood is short-lived. The "Get Smart" star says that lending his voice to the animated "Horton Hears a Who!" bought him some street cred with his kids. "There was an enormous cool factor built into doing a Dr. Seuss movie," says the dad to Elisabeth, 7, and John, 4. "And I will take any brief moment of time that I can be cool to them, because I know as they get older, those moments will become few and far between."

Will Smith, who’s one of a very few dads to star on the big screen with his son, Jaden, says that filming "The Pursuit of Happyness" was precious because "I got to spend every single day–10 to 12 hours a day, together. It became clear that whatever you have to offer financially doesn’t matter. Whatever situation you’re in, it doesn’t matter. You have to be there. You have to be with your child." Which is probably why the almost-10-year-old Jaden, and not wife Jada, joined Will at the recent “MTV Movie Awards."
