Clean for all to see

If you want to know how clean a woman's house is, just look inside her microwave. My guess is that you'll find splatters of hardened SpaghettiO's or possibly the remains of an exploded hot dog. Don't let her spotless kitchen counters fool you. You can bet that there are dirty cookie sheets in her cabinets. Also, check the top of the refrigerator and the back corner of her closet where she hides her latest purchases.

Grown-up Vacation

Posted November 02, 2007

I am officially on vacation. It's been 10 months since my last vacation without my children, and that was only for three nights. I had just started to relax and have fun when it was time to go home. This time, it is for five whole nights and six days! I am so excited I can hardly stand it.

Just this past week at my local mommies group meeting that I belong to the discussion topic was about the different choices for schooling your child: public, private or homeschool. Three panelists spoke representing each kind. All three were very well-spoken, making logical and reasonable arguments for why they had chosen their particular schooling path for their children, and all ended in agreement that ultimately every family has to choose what's… Read More

Usually the Cheese Eater is a very talkative little fellow. Bring up the topic of Lego building or his new favorite show "Scooby Doo" and he can go on and on. But ask him a simple question like, "How was school today?" and he is at a total loss for words.

If I want to learn anything about what my child does for the three hours that he is at school, I have to be like one of the "CSI" detectives and try to… Read More
