I found this helpful Thank You! Your vote will be tallied soon!

Want to spend all day with these two?

4:30am - Baby wakes. Bring her to bed, feed her, and take her back to her crib. Attempt to go back to sleep.

5:00am - Husband's alarm goes off. He gets up and showers. I again try to go back to sleep.

5:30am - Husband lets the preschooler out of her room. Cordy is full of energy as she bounds down the stairs to get breakfast. I pull the covers over my head.

6:15am - I'm up for the day as my husband leaves for work. I eat breakfast and enjoy some quiet time as Cordy watches a little morning TV.

6:45am - I hear Mira over the baby monitor. I give her a few minutes to fuss, hoping she might decide to go back to sleep.

6:47am - No luck. She's awake. Looks like no time for a shower for me today.

7:00am - A round of diaper changes is done, followed by breakfast for Mira. Cordy entertains us by playing piano - badly.

7:30am - Mira spends some time in the exersaucer while Cordy works on a puzzle game. I check my e-mail.

8:00am - Floor play time with both kids. I am served play breakfast by Cordy several times, and enjoy my plastic waffle and sausages with the best acting I can muster this early.

8:30am - I begin the 30 minute long process of getting myself dressed, picking out clothing for both girls, and getting them dressed.

9:00am - Load kids into the car.

9:01am - Rush back into the house because Cordy forgot her Donald Duck and will meltdown without him.

9:15am - I arrive at Cordy's preschool and take her to her classroom. Spend some time chatting with teacher, then leave.

9:45am - Grocery shopping. This takes longer than planned because of the little old ladies who stop me to admire Mira.

10:15am - Mira is tired and crying loudly in the grocery store. Suddenly no one wants to admire her.

10:30am - I arrive back at home, put away groceries, feed Mira, and put her down for a nap.

11:00am - Ah, sweet silence. I surf the 'net for a little while, reading blogs and checking the news.

12:30pm - Mira wakes up, and I am thankful for a long nap. Diaper change again, then I put her down for some floor playtime.

1:00pm - Cordy's bus drops her off. She tells me she's hungry. (as usual) I make both of us lunch.

1:30pm - Mira is hungry. I whip up a fruit and oatmeal lunch for her.

2:00pm - Cordy now wants a snack, so I give her a small bowl of goldfish crackers.

2:15pm - "Mommy, I'm really thirsty." Why can't she ask for both things at the same time?

2:30pm - TV time for all. All praise Noggin. I put a load of laundry in, then read a chapter in one of my textbooks.

3:00pm - Diaper changes all around again, followed by putting Mira down for a nap so Cordy and I can play together a little bit.

3:30pm - Nap over. Way too short.

4:00pm - Consider taking the girls for a walk. Look outside and see snowflakes drifting in the air. Never mind.

4:45pm - Husband arrives home from work. Cordy runs up to him and says, "Hi daddy, I'm hungry!" He must wonder if I ever feed them.

5:00pm - I make dinner for Cordy and feed Mira her dinner. Cordy praises her dinner: "That's good pasta, mommy!"

5:45pm - Bath time for both girls. Cordy splashes so much that more water is outside the tub than in it.

6:30pm - Cordy asks to go to bed. She picks out a toy to take to bed, and I walk her upstairs and tuck her in. She demands each blanket placed in a certain order, followed by each of us taking turns repeating a set of phrases: "Goodnight." "I love you." "Sweet dreams."

7:00pm - I give Mira a bottle, and then put her to bed. Before going downstairs, I check on Cordy. Now that she's asleep, I turn off her light and shut her door.

7:30pm - My time. Now I can eat dinner, catch up on work, talk to my husband and watch some TV that doesn't involve talking dogs or animated characters.

10:00pm - A cry is heard over the baby monitor. I hold my breath and silently wish Mira to go back to sleep. No further noise is heard, and I exhale loudly and relax.

11:30pm - Go to bed.

That's an average day for me. Many days I don't go to the grocery, and occasionally we get out of the house in the afternoon. I did a timeline like this over a year ago, when I only had one child, and I think I had a lot more free time back then. It seems like someone always needs something at any point of the day now, except for those few hours when I'm awake and they're sleeping. Being busy does make the day go by fast, although my husband always wonders why I'm so happy for him to get home each day. Still, there's a lot of fun and a lot of sweet moments in my days, and I'm glad I get to experience them.
