Product Review: Halo Sleep Sack

Posted September 12, 2007

Now that the weather has (finally) started to cool, Mira can no longer sleep in her bassinet in just a onesie. Blankets are generally considered a big no-no for infants, so other ways of keeping her warm had to be found.

When Cordy was a baby, we used the Halo Sleep Sack to keep her warm at night. At the time, it only came in a fleece sack, but since she was born in the fall, with winter close… Read More

She's Growing Up Too Fast

Posted September 09, 2007
Over the past week, Cordy has perfected the ability to turn on her bedroom light. With this new-found skill, she can now turn her light on when she wakes at Unholy O'clock in the morning, a time when even the sun isn't ready to come up yet. Doesn't bother me, since the light isn't waking me up. The one downside to this is it means she's less likely to go back to sleep now when she wakes at 4:30am. (Seriously… Read More

Let The Halloween Costume Hunt Begin!

Posted September 05, 2007

Labor Day is now behind us, which means we've officially entered Halloween season! Halloween is my family's favorite holiday, and we take it very seriously. First on the agenda every year is finding the right costumes.

Are Two Kids Twice The Work?

Posted September 02, 2007
My husband is spending the day at a movie marathon, leaving me with both girls. Early this afternoon, thankfully, his parents watched them for a little while. giving me a two hour break. A much needed break, I might add. During that time, I was able to shop in peace, without a toddler hiding in the clothing racks, or a baby crying because I had the nerve to stop the stroller for half a millisecond to look at something. It was… Read More

Postpartum Body Changes

Posted August 29, 2007

There are hundreds of pregnancy books to take you step by step through the changes your body will go through during pregnancy. You'll know what to expect regarding stretch marks, expanding breasts and belly, swelling in your feet, etc.

But what most of the books fail to tell you about are the changes that happen after the baby is born.

Earlier this week, I was taking a shower and as I ran my hands through my hair, I felt something strange.… Read More

Dealing With Food Allergies

Posted August 26, 2007
I have always been a "sensitive" person. Yes, I am good-natured and empathetic, but that's not the type of sensitive I'm talking about. I mean sensitive as in having allergies. I've always had hay fever, spending every summer with a runny nose and itchy eyes, finding any way possible to stay in air conditioning and away from nature's wrath. I also have sensitive skin, with any irritants causing red patches or little bumps all over. Thankfully, my hay fever isn't… Read More
