I found this helpful Thank You! Your vote will be tallied soon!

Rules and routines go out the window when you have two (or more) kids simultaneously screaming in your ear. Personally, I go into crisis mode when my boys start in: Hamlet fighting a diaper change, Boris wanting and one. Hamlet throwing a fit over something he can't have, Boris demanding something I can't give him until I'm done with his brother. Worst is when I'm nursing Boris, and Hamlet--feeling jealous--chooses that moment to act out. I'm stuck, ineffectually saying, "No!" while Hamlet cackles and Boris keeps unlatching to see what the ruckus is about!

In these situations, it's all about triage. What's more critical at that moment? What important thing am I likely to forget if I don't do it right then?

There are good "in stereo" moments too, though. Like when they play together. Boris laughs and kicks his feet with excitement as Hamlet acts silly. Or Boris, ever more vocal, screeches and "sings" while Hamlet joins in. Those moments are what make the stressful stereo encounters easier to bear!
