Well, I see I am preaching to the choir here - no need for anyone's horror stories (especially from us Dad's!) - but I can say one thing from my experience of which Amy can attest - two can seem so easy, especially when you already have 4 (boys) :) It is all in what you're used to, and finding a nice rhythm to make the majority of the day go as smoothly as possible, then get to the point to survive the last 2 hours of waking time before the kids go to sleep. Any tough days in my past are nothing when I compare them to the joy I had spending Father's Day yesterday with each of the little people that made me a Dad.

It is so frustrating when people try to scare you. Like when you are about to give birth and they sooo enjoy telling you their horror stories..I just don't get that...don't they remember how scared they were...why can't they try to help instead of terrify? I always try to just ignore the negative advice I get from people like that...they are never helpful and just want someone to feel as bad as they do about their situation...Don't worry...you'll make it!!

Like Whitney, I thought going from 1 to 2 was easier than going from 0 to 1. There are definitely rough spots, and it's harder to balance everyone's needs (including your own) when you and your husband are each taking care of a child. But I personally felt a lot more comfortable with my second right from the get-go - I'd become used to being a mother and being able to meet the needs of a small person who can't talk yet. That sense of competence gave me more energy to deal with the other stuff that came up, and it really didn't take me as long to adjust. You will do just fine - just take each day, each moment one at a time and don't overextend yourself!
