The first time I launched a blog I felt like I was doing the electronic equivalent of dropping a message in a bottle into the ocean and was slightly stunned when people responded, and majorly so when Disney did. I had no idea all you had to do was title a post "Pending Discovery" and you got discovered. How fantastic. It reminds me of those self help, transform your life books which boil down to 500 pages of "Think Positive".
In my extensive blogging experience (months, at least), I've learned that kicking off a blog has an awkward, getting-to-know you phase. It's not unlike showing up to a cocktail party where the people you actually know are late again, and you spend the first 20 minutes playing a sort of charades with the other guests trying to express non-verbally, "I definitely KNOW people here, I'm just on my way to talk to them". At some point, afraid of wearing a walking pattern into the floor, you give up, insert yourself into a group of people, and hope that you will have something clever to say in regards to the conversation, because we all live and die on first impressions. Usually you totally pick the wrong group and end up smile weakly while sliding backwards in retreat to find a group that actually might be discussing something interesting. But the point is, you have to start somewhere. And for this blog, that's today.
In the coming weeks and months, I hope you'll stop back and perhaps even join the discussion, as I share my vast experiences in being a working wife, mother and swollen pregnant woman. I hope you'll stick around!
