A Husband Steadfastly Confronts Grave Danger

With this pregnancy I have either lost my ability to taste salt, or increased my baseline need for it. I realized this when I found myself salting Fritos and remarking to a friend, "Didn't these used to be salty?"
"They still are." She replied, eyeing me warily. "Hmm, I don't think as much." I said. But then I found that really everything has needed extra salt lately, which leads me to carry around a salt shaker and admit, maybe it's me.
So it may be related to my new best friend salt, that I recently asked my husband if my legs looked fat or swollen.
"No." he responded, immediately and adamantly.
I peered down at at my legs which looked as if someone had hooked up an air hose and inflated them to 160 psi. I could barely bend them at the knee.
"Are you sure?" I asked doubtfullyIt wasn't that I was worried if my legs would win 'best in show', I was more concerned I was in imminent danger of dying of pregnancy enduced edemia. Unfortunately it appears you cannot quickly undo years of good husband training.
Staring that risk directly in the face, my husband refused to budge from the safe zone saying, "If anything, they look a little thin."
