Was there really a time when I worried whether Jack would ever talk? Now I have to ask, will he ever stop?

I know that one day I will stumble upon that small tape recorder, which I spent hours holding close to his head willing him to make an utterance of any type. In other words, I have hours of tape recordings of baby gurgles. Who was that woman? Ah well, things progress and one day, almost out of the blue… Read More

My house is a shameful testament to excess. I am continuously astounded by the number of toys that cover the floors and lurk in the corners of every room, biding their time until they can make their move, change the locks, and take over the entire house for good. Through some combination of birthdays, holidays, and "mommy's bored of your current toys", they have proliferated to dangerous levels. I'm probably breaking at least five county ordinances against clutter.

And the winner is...

Posted April 27, 2007

I went ten rounds with a 3lb fetus last night. I'm pretty sure the fetus won.

For about 30 seconds anyway, at which point we were addicted again.

This time, after a period of time where we left the TV on with… Read More

When Prenatal Care is a Bore

Posted April 23, 2007

I'm a little disappointed to find that my prenatal appointments are pretty boring this time around. I remember with my first pregnancy, eagerly anticipating each visit, coordinating with my husband like pre-launch NASA to make sure that he didn't miss a single one. I know proper pre-natal care is important it's just that nothing really happens at these visits, unless something does, in which case you dont complain in your blog about them.

Couple routine checks, heartbeat, weight, blood pressure-… Read More

A Week In Review: Two Thumbs Down.

Posted April 20, 2007

Well, there is zero chance that this week is getting nominated for "week of the year" or similar honors anytime soon. In fact, I'm just about to pack it up and write it off.

Monday started with the devastating events at Virginia Tech, which have become only sadder as the reality has sunk in to those who have connections to the University, and the images of a deranged man, who actually took a break in the middle of a killing spree to run… Read More
