Just Amy
If tension headaches count, this mom is having it all!
With this pregnancy I have either lost my ability to taste salt, or increased my baseline need for it. I realized this when I found myself salting Fritos and remarking to a friend, "Didn't these used to be salty?"
"They still are." She replied, eyeing me warily. "Hmm, I don't think as much." I said. But then I found that really everything has needed extra salt lately, which leads me to carry around a salt shaker and admit, maybe it's… Read MoreI have read that there is a certain chemical that young people have that makes them feel invincible and have a sense of immortality. This chemical slowly dissipates as you age until at some point, maybe in your early 30's, you suddenly realize, "oh my god, I'm going to die!". At which point the world appears extremely dangerous. I remember my reckless teenage days with fondness, it was a lot of fun. We did fairly stupid… Read MoreFor some time now, my son has been inventing words. My, isnt he creative, we thought, as he'd throw in some strange words into his constant commentary. At worst, we thought he was trying to use some really complex words and getting hung up.

Even toys, with their slight scuff marks or two year old technology, were rarely acceptable. Ironically one… Read MoreMy father was in town recently for a visit. He is continuously astounded at the manner in which we parent Jack, often saying things like "I don't know where you get the energy" or just laughing incredulously at as we negotiate with Jack or calmly tell him not to do something 12 times in a row, instead of warning him twice and then giving him a spanking, as would have happened to me.
"It's a different era", I explained. "When you were a child,… Read MoreHey, isn't it time you took the leap and signed up with Family.com?
