Walle & Eve

Description

My son wanted nothing more this year than to get to be his favorite movie character Wall.E and his four month old sister got to be Wall.E's friend's Eve.

Materials

WALL.E BODY
rectangular tote, black brown and yellow spray paint,round cardboard craft boxes(2 bottoms and six tops), two 2" angle brackets,six 2 1/2x1/4 stove bolts and nuts, two 3/4 wood screws,four 1/2 wood screws,two 4" turn buckels,black marker,letter stencils,two 1 1/2"x1" one foot boards,small can walnut color stain,one foot cut fatigue mat,rectangular 2"styrofoam,2 light weight metal vents,18 long straight pins,one knob
WALL.E EYES
gray swim goggles,Wall.E toy binoculars from the Disney Store
EVE
White Umbra garbage can,black and blue construction paper,super glue,two 1" stove bolt and nut, piece of foam coar
For the extra touch we got and old boot and put a piece of styrofoam in it with a artificial leaf on a stem stuck in it to represent "life" on Earth

Instructions

  • WALLE BODY: #1 cut 8" diameter hole in bottom of tote #2 cut rectangle piece of styrofoam to fit back of tote angeling long sides towards tote #3 Spray paint tote, two round craft box bottoms,turn buckles and styrofoam all the color yellow #4 Center styrofoam piece on back of tote and drill 1/4" hole through styrofoam and tote about 2" from the top and 2" from left top corner. Drill another hole 2" from top and 2" from the top right corner #5 Insert 2 1/2x1/4" stove bolt first threading it through the round end of turn buckle,then styrofoam and then through the tote. Fasten with nut. (Turn buckels give appearance of shock absorbers) #6 Drill 1/4 hole about 1 1/2 inches from the end of board. Use black marker to draw 3 reflector lines on the opposite end of board. Do this step to both boards ( you are creating Wall.E's arms #7 Spread 2 angle brackets apart and use 3/4" wood screw to attach brackets to the reflector end of the wood arms.(These will be Wall.E's claw hands) #8 Drill 1/2" hole through 2 yellow craft box bottoms. Insert 2 1/2x1/4" stove bolt through wood then craft box then tote. Secure with nut. The craft boxes act as spacers between arm and tote. #9 Stain tote,arms,styrofoam,turn buckels and craft boxes to make Wall.E appear antique #10 Cut 2 light weight vents with snipes,angeling corners. Cut one about 6" long and the other about 4". Spray paint vents brown. Drill holes in the corners of vents and screw to the chest of tote placing one horizontal and one vertical. Glue knob to tote. #11 Cut 2 triangular shaped forms for tracks out of styrofoam rounding the corners. Spray paint them black. #12 Cut 2" strip of fatigue mat and wrap it around triangular shape. Cut to size and staple on. #13 Position on the side of tote and Drill hole through triangular shaped styrofoam and the tote. Use 2 1/2x1/4" stove bolt to attach styrofoam to side of tote.( a washer may be used to prevent bolt from pulling through side of styrfoam. Place 3 black craft covers one in each triangle curve and attach to styrofoam with long straight pins. Repeat on other side. Stencil WALL.E to front bottom side of tote
    WALL.E EYES
    Cut the toy binoculars in half. Drill a hole through the front of the swim goggles and binoculars. Use 1x1/4" stove bolt to attach. Use 2 wood screws to attach the back end of the binoculars to swim mask strap.
    EVE
    Cut room for childs legs to come out of the base of the garbage can. Cut arms out of foam coar. Drill holes and attach arm to Eve's body with 1" stove bolt and nut. Do other arm.
    Out of black construction paper make oval shapes Eve face. Cut two eyes out of blue construction paper and glue on to oval face. On the dome cover super glue Eve's face.
