Instructions
Cut the batting into appro. 3/4 inch cubes. You should have enough to fill two plastic grocery bags. Lay the cubes out on the table and start painting! We alternated yellow (Bauhaus Gold) and cream (Sweet Cream), while stirring the cubes with a paint stick. It is ok to have a bit of white peeking out to look more realistic. Use the brown paint (Brown Boots) around the edges to make the cubes look toasty! You should have what looks like a table full of hash browns!
Place a brown paper bag or a cutting board between the front and back of the dress ( so you don't accidentally glue the sides together!)and start gluing! Glue the cubes to the front, back, sides and straps of the dress. Chunky piles makes the finished product look more realistic, just make sure each cube is glued into place.
Once all the cubes are attatched, put some finishing touches of paint on where needed. Concentrate with the brown around the edges because everyone loves a crispy tot!
We also found a bottle of catsup that sends out a red ribbon when squeezed. The perfect accesory for Our Tater Tot! So Cute!
- Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple -- your costume is the star!
- Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash.
- Upload a horizontal photo. If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio.
- For best results, make your image 1200x900 (or "save for web").
- With a digital camera, you can take as many photos as possible and choose the best one. Have fun!
