Description
Materials
one gallon, plastic milk jug
three silver pipe cleaners
three, 3 inch styrofoam balls
three bathroom sized paper cups
large (36 can) soda case
shoe box lid
self-adhesive reflectors
hot glue
four nut/bolt sets
Instructions
For the helmet, cut the top and handle off of the milk jug. Poke holes into the bottom and each side of the jug. Put pipe cleaners through holes about 1/2 inch, then bend and attach to the inside of the jug with hot glue. Poke holes into the bottom of each bathroom cup. Run each cup onto a pipe cleaner and secure to the jug with hot glue. Twist each pipe cleaner around pinkie finger to create spiral. Attach a styrofoam ball at the end of each pipe cleaner. Spray entire helmet with silver spray paint.
For body, cut a hole in one end of the soda case for the head and a hole on each side for the arms. Attach the shoebox lid to the front of the case with nuts/bolts (one at each corner). This will be the control panel. Spray paint the body with silver spray paint. Decorate the control panel using any craft items you choose (we used self-adhesive reflectors and rubber strips cut into a square and rectangle).
- Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple -- your costume is the star!
- Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash.
- Upload a horizontal photo. If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio.
- For best results, make your image 1200x900 (or "save for web").
- With a digital camera, you can take as many photos as possible and choose the best one. Have fun!
