Description
Isn't he the cutest lion you have ever seen?
This year our 3 year old son wanted to be a lion so I sewed up a simple "bodysuit", added leather feet and created a headpiece from fabric and hundreds of glued ribbon "loops". To add depth I choose ribbon with a metalic sheen and included a tail.
He loves his costume and "roars" for our friends and family!

Materials
Approximately 2 yards of brown material, 1 linear foot of leather and suede, about 30 yards of various widths of metalic riboon, fabric glue
Instructions
Using a pair of "footed" pajamas as a pattern, sew bodysuit from brown fabric with leather feet. Use the hood of a sweatshirt as a pattern for a headpiece. Sew. Cut half circles for ears and attach by hand sewing. Sew long tube of material and stuff with fiberfill. Attach to rear of bodysuit.
Cut ribbon to various lengths from 2 inches to 10 inches. Using fabric glue, form into loops. Glue loops onto tail, headpiece and chest of bodysuit.
Tips for Taking a Great Photo:
- Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple -- your costume is the star!
- Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash.
- Upload a horizontal photo. If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio.
- For best results, make your image 1200x900 (or "save for web").
- With a digital camera, you can take as many photos as possible and choose the best one. Have fun!
