Be inspired by this precious costume submitted to last year's contest on Family.com by cynamonmishra
Niceville, FL . . . Handmade Flirty Flamingo Costume. The head is metallic with metallic feathers around the neck, large beak, large yellow eyes with long lashes. The body is a cute tutu with a feather edged skirt and feathery textured wing shaped sleeves. The legs are metallic golden yellow with bird feet.

Instructions
I used two sewing patterns to create this unique one of a kind handmade flamingo costume. It is sewn using a sewing machine and by hand and also some parts are attached with a hot glue gun.
The beak is made of craft foam - it can be easily sewn with a sewing machine and then it was glued onto the head.
The feet are flip flops with a piece of fabric covered craft foam attached with hot glue.
Tips for Taking a Great Photo:
- Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple -- your costume is the star!
- Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash.
- Upload a horizontal photo. If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio.
- For best results, make your image 1200x900 (or "save for web").
- With a digital camera, you can take as many photos as possible and choose the best one. Have fun!
